Dream of Peace

I haven't posted in some time. I am helping with a home renovation and it is very time consuming. I did manage to finally finish a collage piece I have been working on. My tentative plan is to transfer the image onto an antique ceiling tin I have. We'll see how that works out.

Hi, I just called by from visiting Creative Solace and think your work is stunning. I love this piece - she's gorgeous. Please may I ask, what is a ceiling tin? I'm looking forward to following and seeing what you create next! x

Ceiling tins are decorative pieces of tin that were used to cover ceilings. You can now get the same sort of look with a plastic piece made to look like ceiling tin. The home improvement stores, like Home Depot in my area, sell the plastic replicas. What I have are tins from a bar that was demolished. A co-worker knew I like to salvage material for my projects, so she gave me the tins when her brother tore down his old bar. Most were rusted beyond any real use, but I scored 2 that are about 2ft by 2ft and about 4 smaller ones. I've seen people use them for clock faces. I thought they would look nice as a decorative element on a wood planter.
